Default VZW Mobile TV / Tower equipment

so i have a LG voyager on verizon...i have EV and 1x service where i live..but the icon with the litle TV always had an X in the middle of it meaning there is no movile TV available in my area. tonite, i noticed the X is gone and the TV icon is full, meaning i now have mobile TV coverage...my question is did verizon have to come down to the tower in my town and do anything to allow the mobile TV to be available..did they have to add any Panels or new equipment to make this possible? thanks!

I might be wrong, but I don't think verizon runs that network at all. The service is actually called media flo, and is run by Qualcom, not verizon. There are probably much fewer media flo transmitters than there are regular cell sites.
You probably didnt have that service until recent because of the DTV switch.

I'd say that's a good call. VCAST Mobile TV is only available in a few select markets - at least a few when you consider VZW coverage across the US.
