I want to upgrade. Currently have a Nokia 6315 and my wife has a Samsung. I really like my son's T-moblie G1. What is a good phoe to use web mail, ie AOL, Google, and use the Web as well as a good overall phone. I really like Verizon service, but do not see phones that are like the Iphone, G1, etc. and I am not sure about the Strorm. Is it time to move away from Verizon? Another question, what is a good phone for my teenagers using text alot. They dont like the qwerty keyboard. Just the normal keys. Thanks, Alan |

Short answer for Verzion would be any of the BlackBerries ie. Storm. As far as a good quality text phone it depends on the service provider. Most of the phones carried are able to be used with text. It will just depend on the look and style preferred by your teenagers. Hopefully they will come around to the qwerty keyboard as they make texting alot easier. Hope this helps and I'm sure other people will file their input as well.

Samsung Omnia. Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional. Fast Internet (rev A) Flexable text entry (has a varity of input options including a full qwerty keyboard and a xt9 keypad similar to a dumb phone). Great Signal Strength and Voice Quality 5mp Camera Built in WiFi In the end, go play with the phones in a brick and morter CORPORATE Verizon store. see my review here: http://forums.wirelessadvisor.com/sa...002-omnia.html (Omnia)

Ugh!!! I hated the Samsung Omnia. I was up for upgrade and ordered that phone about two weeks ago. After playing around it for just two hours I sent it back the very same day. My biggest issue was the virtual keyboard, it's just too small and you have to use the stylus to type properly. The stylus doesn't even slide in the phone it's attached to the side. I found typing anything on it to be a pain and who wants to carry a side attached stylus around all the time to even type out a simple text message? Another complaint I had was the so called "5 Megapixel camera", the pics on it were blurry and looked awful. My 2 Megapixel enV2 takes better shots than the Omnia did. I also had some trouble with the WiFi as well and I had Opera Mobile just crash on me twice when using it for such a short period of time. Another thing is the RF on it seemed poor. A friend of mine is a Verizon rep and he warned me about this phone. How the return rate on it is high but I didn't listen and really wanted to try it. He was right though it looks good on paper but the functionality and performance of the Omnia are just very poor. |

I would say to go with the blackberry storm, but my major qualm with it is lack of wifi. If you really need wifi (evdo isn't THAT fast...), change to ATT and try the iphone.

The missus is quite happy with her FlipShot critter. It might take a wee bit of work to get it to do what you want. I fell in love with the QWERTY keyboard back on older Palms and then an older Kyocera so you could say I'm biased when I vote for a;most any CrackBerry.
