Fellow Verizon folks, I'm having a problem and hope someone out there can be of some help (so far Verizon tech support has not been able to figure this out). I ported over from T-Mobile recently. After I ported, no one who has a Sprint number can call me. They get a busy signal...a slightly faster than normal signal. Here's the thing, I can call them fine and I can receive text messages from them...just can't get incoming calls from Sprint customers. It is not just local area code...all area codes seem to be affected. This is only happening to friends on Sprint. Anyone heard of this...anyone know what could be happening? One other thing to know, I ported out of Sprint a while ago to T-Mobile and then from T-Mobile to Verizon. Thanks for your help. James |

Best wishes, mintoncltnc, you will be working with VZW techs a while to get Sprint techs to update their un-porting (bring the Sprint number in from T-Mobile) and re-porting work (port it out again to Verizon). As I see it, external (to Sprint) callers are being properly directed to the VZW switch that your handset homes to. Internal (to Sprint) callers are being sent to your old T-Mobile switch, where your number doesn't live anymore, thus the faster busy signal. That's my guess, thanks for the last sentence. I suggest you call into to VZW on a wired phone (or another line) so that your handset can be called (from Sprint phones) for testing. COtech

COtech's explanation makes sense.......a number you have belongs to the original company that distributed that number so if you're first cell phone was with Sprint then they give you that number.....when you port to T-Mobile the number goes with you, but when you go to Verizon......the number first goes back to Sprint then out to Verizon........somewhere along there Sprint's systems weren't updated and the Sprint systems think they still have the number and don't realize that it has moved out again
