Default Jawbone problem

I have the LG 8700 with verizon. I just bought the new Jawbone Bluetooth.
The sound quality is great! But no matter what I do, I cannot get the voice dialing to work.
In order to use the voice dialing I need to open my phone and activate voice dialing.
That is exactly what I don't want to have to do . To me that is defeating the purpose of a bluetooth.
Sure hope someone can help me, I love this bluetooth and don't want to return it.
