Default Confused on replacement for lost phone

I lost my phone while traveling in MASS. 2 weeks ago. I stopped at a VERIZON store (expecting to have to buy a new phone)and they told me I was eligible for an upgrade and a new phone 9/10/08. They cave me a loaner phone and suggested that I go to VERIZON store at home (South Carolina)in September and get a new phone (with a 2 year contract). I stopped at the local VERIZON (not Verizon Wireless) location to see what phones they carry. The rep told me that I was not eligible for a free phone in September but must wait until May 2009. Truthfuilly I do not remember when I signed up for my last contract renewal. Is there any way I can verify when I am eligible or should I go to a Verizon Wireless store (40 mile drive) store and see what they say.

You can log into your account and click on upgrade phone... it will give you your eligibility date for the New Every Two discount, which is 20 months from your last discounted upgrade. He rep in Massachusetts probably have gave you the date you can upgrade early. This is called the Annual Upgrade, meaning you can upgrade every year, subject to a fee, a new 2 year contract.
