I recently switched to Verizon but don't know how to check my voicemail from a different phone. With sprint you just press * but that doesn't work. How do check from a home phone?

you used to be able to press zero and then enter your password when you call and reach your voicemail greeting but now I think they changed it? I just dial *86 from my handheld device.

| I think it depended on which original carrier a customer had before Verizon Wireless came into existence. It's always been *86 to call and # to access the system from another phone in California since the old AirTouch days. Since AirTouch was one of several carriers that made made up the national VZW, it wouldn't surprise me if one of the other partners used to use "0", though I've never used it, even when traveling outside of California.
