| I have the VX8500 and I really haven't had any issues with it. When I bought the phone/activated it the flashing triangle for being on the extended network was there. I didn't really care because I wasn't being billed extra for being on the EN. However, you can't access Get-It-Now (though I am not really heartbroken about that) nor can I send or receive pix/flix msgs. Regular Txting and calling works fine. Recently I figured I should resolve this problem just because people keep sending me pics and I can't look at them. I've called CS several times and they basically had a hard time believing me that I was on the EN even when in a major city. Needless to say, the problem hasn't been resolved. I have a friend who has the same phone as me, I checked his setttings vs. mine and yet he has no blinking triangle. Can anyone think of what the problem could be? -Info about the phone. Bought through Best Buy (though VZW assures me this can't be the issue). I had the phone # switched from Sprint as well. When I was told to take it into the VZW store (by a VZW CS Rep), I still was on the EN and the rep (after waiting for 40 min) took a look at my phone, said it wasn't roaming and that I should come back the next day to talk to the tech rep because she didn't want to give me the wrong answer (or any for that matter). Thanks in advance! |

| Wirelessly posted (Treo 750: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows CE; IEMobile 7.6) UP.Link/6.3.1.17.0) It almost sounds like someone messed around with the settings. Try going into the Field Test Menu by hitting Menu then 0 & then Service Code 00000. This should bring up some options, go into the Force Mode & ensure that "digital" is checked not "pcs" or "cellular". This should take it out of roaming. Good luck.

| I can't find "force" mode, however I can change the Mode, Band and Roam Preferences. Mode is set to Digital Only Hybrid (other options here include Digital only NON-Hybrid, HDR Only or 1x Only), Band is set to Any (other options here include Cell or PCS) and Roam is set to Any (other options here include Home Only or Affiliated) |

| I have to agree with the mod on this. If the phone is stuck on extended network even though a Verizon signal is available, it is a likely a phone issue. I went this on my Samsung a while back. I didn't know it at the time... I only realized it when I had to force the phone onto the Verizon network after I left the extended coverage area. Last edited by Quint101; 07-04-2008 at 9:55 PM. Reason: deleted info regarding the nationwide plan; mms may not work where the triangle flashes |

| Have you downloaded the latest PRL? *228, then listen to the options to update the phones roaming service. Also, if the phone doesn't OTA program (by the same *228 number). This is supposed to give you the home sid. Then there is something really wrong. Check the network settings without going into the programming menu as well. Should be in the regular menu under network settings.
