I called multiple Verizon stores and asked them if I bought a LG Scoop if I could use Verizon with it. The people said that there would be no problem activating the phone and it would all work out without problems. Well, I bought the phone and the total opposite has happened. Talking to an employee in the store I was told that Verizon takes phones to their headquarters in Arizona and flash Verizon service on to it so I can activate the phone. However, they told me there was only a 50% chance it would work. Does anybody know if it will work or not? I don't want to waste any more money over Verizon not telling me the truth. Thank you to any answers, I really need help with this.

Who knows how well trained (or lack thereof) Verizon store reps are? Did you mention that the Scoop is a Sprint phone? Since Verizon carries so many LG phones, I wonder if they truly understood what you were asking. It sounds like you understand things more than they do. Verizon is still in the process of integrating their "Open Policy" with handsets and the like. They still have a lot of work to do before it becomes a reality. What you're experiencing is part of the problem. Sprint and Verizon do their own thing with the phones they carry, so interoperability without issues is not something that comes easy. Sadly, you may have wasted your money on the Scoop. What you're wanting to do is much harder to implement than it should be.

The Scoop is an AllTel phone... Sprint has the Rumor, which was the first model of the aforementioned device. I agree with you... It's much simpler to get a phone that's designed for that carrier. I wonder has anyone taken advantage of the open phones policy yet... I'll probably never do this since I have to ship the phone across the country and there's not a guarantee at all.

Thanks for answering everyone. So my best bet would be to sell the phone and just buy a Verizon phone? This seems to be the logical situation but I just love the Scoop so much.
