Your main account gets the $100 off NE2 discount along with whatever the 2-year agreement price is of the phone of your choosing. As for your other lines, they are eligible only for the discounted pricing, nothing more.

The $100 off discount is a primary line benefit only.

If you want the NE2 pricing for a different line you can get it on your primary and wait until the next day to switch phones. I did this last January.

I second macsesso on this. You can use the primary line $100 savings for a phone and them move it to one of the other lines via online ESN swap on the VZ site (though only the main account holder has the option to make the change).

Ok so all the lines still get the discounted 2 year contract phones? That was what I was wondering about.

As long as they are in their contract eligibility period, yes.

How can I do the ESN swap on the VZ site? Where do I find it? I have been looking around the Verizon site and haven't found anything yet.

Thanks for your help!

You do it through "My Account". Have you signed up for it? Secondly, are you the main account holder?

When you are signed in to "My Account", you see a synopsis of information. In the second column, you should see "My Services" and a picture of your phone (or a phone) and a "Go" button. When you select "Go", you are taken to the "My Services" main page. Next to an enlarged image of your phone, you will see a series of options, one of which will be "Activate Phone" (it will be colored blue and highlighted as a link).

Selecting the "Activate Phone" link will take you to the selections screen, asking you for what kind of activation it will be. Select the appropriate option. It should take you to a screen where you will enter the ESN (Electronic Serial Number) to activate the phone. Follow the directions.

If you receive a message saying the activation was NOT successful, you can then call Verizon and they will do the activation for you at NO charge. Some types of activations cannot be done online. Why? I have no idea? Most activations should occur without a problem. Good luck!

Thanks very much for the detailed response! I am waiting for my (1st) NE2 phone to arrive later today, so i'll try this over the weekend.

I had some experience with that one! Usually the ESN switch will not work online if the ESN is tied to an "activated" phone. Case in point, I ordered a phone and new line through Verizonwireless. The phone was shipped to my house and I was told by someone at the verizon store to activate the phone first and then switch out the ESN numbers on whichever phones I wanted to switch. I did it online and received the error message. When I called in to the Verizon customer service they told me the reason why the online ESN switch did not go through was because all phones showed they were on active lines. I should not have activated the new phone that I ordered if I wanted to switch out the ESN with another one of my lines. So if you are planning to switch phones out, be sure to switch out the ESN's WITHOUT activating the new phone that comes to you.
