Default Overage Error of Shared Minutes

I have a verizon familly share plan with 5 phones (3 teenagersI) so needless to say I'm always checking our minutes. 2 days ago I noticed we had 1100 minutes used (out of 1400) and last night we were over at 1557 minutes! I noticed right away that my husband and I had about 100-200 minutes more on our shared peak minutes than 2 days ago (between the 2 of us we probably only used about 10-15 minutes of "peak usage", the rest was IN calling. When I called verizon they gave us 500 extra minutes, but they can't tell us what is going on until the end of the billing cycle. When I asked for a possible explanation the customer rep told me that sometimes if the verizon towers are busy the calls are routed to sprint ones???? Is there anyone else that has heard of this?? Although verizon gave us the extra minutes, I am a little upset that this could happen so easily...

If you have not done so, you should set up an online account manager. This will tell what each phone is using. Go to the VerizonWireless.com site and click My Account on the top right. Once set up you will see total shared minutes then click on the Shared Minutes link to see each phone number in your plan.

I have an account and check it frequently. The problem is that is doesn't reflect our shared minutes that we have used as I said in the above post.

Sometimes, usage while on the extended network (like Sprint or AllTel) is not reflected immediately in the usage totals until a few days later. I have had roaming usage appear on the next billing cycle or 2nd one after that. This delayed billing will affect any remaining allowances in the month that the calls or other use occured.

I've had delayed billing occur even while on the Verizon network. Its the technology I guess

Honestly I know in the short term it might freak you out. Take a big deep breath you will be fine things are prone to happen with any type of billing just wait and see when the bill comes out then get things worked out. I wish as much as everyone that an unlimited minute plan would be available for families.

It's there but who would pay $100 or more per line? It's crazy!
