My contract with Verizon is almost up, and I'd like to leave them but I don't want to screw over my brother (who, admittedly, somewhat put himself in this boat by upgrading his phone without telling me...so that now *his* contract ends May 2009). Right now he's paying $35 of the $100 (with taxes) monthly bill, but if I leave he will have to switch to an individual plan, probably $55 or so w/tax. He barely uses it (about 50 min a month but a lot of text messages) so this seems sucky for him. The twist is that my husband has Verizon as well-- would it be possible to add my brother to my husband's contract on a family plan for the remainder of his contract? |

Yeah, this shouldn't be a problem. To make it easier, switch your line first, so that your brother is all alone on the plan. Then go into the Verizon store and convert your brother as an add-a-line onto your husbands plan. As posted above, your husband will have to sign a form taking over the contract from your brother. The only possible snag is that if your husband is not on a family plan now he will need to switch to one, which might require a new contract (I don't know Verizon's rules). It might be easier for your husband to be moved onto your plan, and then for you to take your line elsewhere once your husband is added. Then I wouldn't think any contract extensions would be needed (if they are needed at all).

Verizon doesn't require contract extensions if you change your plan. So, it shouldn't be a problem if they move her brother's line over to her husband's account.

honestly you can do just about anything you want with lines nowadays just as long as you fulfill the contract agreement to the expiration date
