Hello everyone I originially posted this question in the Motorola section. However since I have not gotten a lot of responses I thought I would post here. I am pasting below my original post. I'm hoping that since this phone is offered to verizon users I might get more responses here. I am a verizon user. Below is my original post: Hi everyone Before posting here I did a search inside of Verizon's forum and in Moto forum. Except for one hit about the signal bars on the Moto W385 I can't find any discussion of this phone. We own the Moto E815 and have been so happy with it for the things that matter: call quality, speakerphone quality. One of our other cell phones is dying. The E815 is now hard to find and ebay has some used ones (don't want that) and new ones I can find are too expensive. We are now looking at the Moto W385 as a replacement. I looked at CNET reviews and phone scoop reviews (and except for disagreement about battery life) the phone seems to be rated well. I've read all the specs and am aware of the features that the W385 lacks. However I am looking for some real world feedback. I'm getting this phone for my godfather and he is older and not very tech saavy. He has done well with the 815 but since I can't get him one I'm thinking of going with this one. He needs good loud sound and a good speakerphone. At least a speakerphone the quality of the Moto E815 Does any one have an real life feed back on the Moto W385 for use on Verizon's network. Also tell me of your battery life experience as some people say it was great and other's said it was terrible. Maybe some got an older version and others got a patched version that affected battery life. I desperately would welcome real world experience with this phone. Thanks Jude |

Have you checked for feedback on phonescoop.com? They will have people who have reviewed these phones as well.

I am the user who posted the item about the W385 signal bars. We have had the 2 phones for about 3 weeks now and are very happy with them. The battery life is outstanding. The mini USB charger plug is very rugged andf is much better than the old Moto design. I just paired my W385 with a Bluetooth head set I bought on eBay and it works flawlessly. I can make calls now in areas that never worked with my old Mto trimode. Be warned that this is a digital only phone, so if analog is imortant to you look elsewhere. Losing analog was not an issue in my area as all it did was drain my battery fast. The camera is OK but not exceptional. But I really wanted mostly a basic phone without a lot a bells and whistles. Size is perfect for me- buttons not so small my big fingers press 2 at a time. All in all I say a very good to exceptional phone ( and I have been using cell phones since 1986 when I had a NEC that weighed 15 pounds) |

That's great to hear RJNiles. Let me ask you this: I am buying this phone for my parents. They are older. They can easily hear the ring on the Moto E815 they own - though I had to chose the ring tone that sounded like a regular phone, how do you find the ringer level? I've read all the cnet and phonescoop reviews and people speak well of the speakerphone. I need to know that the speakerphone and ring tones are fairly audible. Thanks for the extra feedback. |

My only concern would be the small buttons The 815 had huge buttons so it will be a transition to go to the 385. If you are concerned about the ease of use factor you might want to consider the coupe.

Reguarding the ringer volume: I am hard of hearing at higher frequency levels (64 years old), and I find some of the ringtones on the W385 are very easy for me to hear. I don't think the size of the buttons is an issue, not huge but more than adequite. |
