Default Need assistance accessing "My Account" from handset

I'm having trouble accessing "my features" on "My account" from my handset and VZW store employees weren't able to figure out the problem and sent me to call the tech support on my own.

Tools>My Account>My Features:
Prompt: billing zip code, last 4 of SSN, then billing password.

I enter it... then I immediately get "network connection lost" , I keep hitting "retry" and eventually get password not valid error "please call *611 for help"...

What is my "billing password" ? I tried both my account password that they ask when you call *611 and also my VZW.com log-in password. I get the same network connection lost error either way. And what's the deal with "Network connection lost" ? I have very good signal strength, both in 1x and EV
The handset is a Casio G'Zone. Store updated my software as I was having problems with accessing mobile web. Tech's opinion is that the handset is fine. Tier 3's customer service's opinion is that handset might be bad.

Now I know why I usually don't upgrade my phone. With Verizon, if it ain't broken, don't change sh*t typically applies....

Thanks in advance for any help.

If you have a family plan (this may apply to single line plans), did you select a password for the account? Generally, this password is not the last 4 of the ssn.

Sometimes, the my account headset can be picky sometimes. I would try again later. This has happened to me before and the bugs would work themselves out.

No, it's not a family plan.

When I go to "My account" then "My features", it would prompt me to enter "billing zip code", then< "last 4 of SSN" and finally "billing PIN" separately.

Yes, I have a password for my account. Everytime you call *611, they ask for this password and I've already tried entering this, as well as my VZW.com PW.

I had an old handset that I got upgraded to a Motorola that I didn't like and that one was working ok, then when I exchanged for the G'Zone, this all started.

I have a LG-8300 & tested out the "my account" from my handset. The menu prompted me to enter my billing zip code & the last 4 of my SSN. Never was I prompted to enter a billing password. I was able to check payments & access the "my features" without any other password needed.Very strange!

The password that you are providing to CS is indeed the one you should be entering. Check the way you are entering it... different phones behave differently as you have found out. If push comes to shove, you may have to reset your billing password.

From what I can tell, the billing password functionality is a relatively new thing (to me); I wasn't aware of it until I upgraded to my family plan last year. The password is an optional feature that is found on My Account (the desktop version).

OMG VERIZON IS FREAKING IDIOT!

I called TIER 3 at the phone number VZW store provided me. They wasted a bunch of my time, then called me up after "investigating trouble ticket". Tech and I went over the phone, having me log on from my computer on the internet making sure the account is working, then had me try on my handset.

She called me back, and said I need to talk to Online support at 800-350-2830 whom promptly told me "if you're doing it from your handset" I can't help you and after going on and on, i was tranferred to someone else, then issued me another ticket.

nobody knows what they're doing !

I can see my rate plan, but seem to have problems getting to area for features. But my Samsung has always been flaky about accessing My Account. When I tried it after I had first purchased the phone almost 2 years ago (My Account wasn't an option on my LG 4400 I had previously), it never worked for me, so I just kept using my computer or calling the automated system for minute (#min)/balance(#bal)/message usage(#data).
