How Do We Get Another Carrier to Pay Our ETF? Is It Possible?

If we want to get out of my contract and port our two numbers to Verizon, would Verizon pay two ETF's if we are willing to sign up with them for three Family Plans with three phones with a two year contract on each line?

I thought I read previous stories of other people on WA that have done this. Or am I mistaken?

Any help and personal experience is appreciated.

Gamer, like i mentioned before on the other thread, i've also read the same either here or at Hofo about the same subject, i think you may have a better shot if you also visit a Verizon store or whatever carrier you want to go with, it may be at the store manager's discretion to do something like this...

That is why I was wondering if it was possible.

I sent an e-mail to a store manager at my local Verizon Wireless. So I will wait and see what happens.

If nothing happens, then I will personally go into the store.

I will keep everyone posted (if anyone cares to know the outcome).

Of course we care- as i mentioned in your other thread, maybe Sprint will have you leave w/out paying the ETF if you take it to a higher level person or something like that.

I called them, and we will have to pay two ETF's.

So we are just going to wait until next March and then switch to another carrier (probably Alltel, Verizon, or Cingular).

If the service gets worse, then we might pay the ETF's (but like I said, we have decided to tough it out).

Did you talk to a supervisor or just a normal rep?
A normal rep goes by 'the book' and doesn't really care probably, a supervisor might consider letting you out w/out paying the ETF.

I need to find out if my parents are absolutely sure that "if" we get out of the contract without paying two ETF's, that they will want to get rid of Sprint....since my parents pay the bill every month.

If they do, then I will call them again and ask for a supervisor.

Well, what do you pay with Sprint right now each month? Is it price wise that you're worried about?

Or as someone suggested in another forum, pay the ETF's and sell your phones on ebay to make up for some of the costs...that's good idea as well if you can't get out without paying the ETF and if you really want out.

2 lines: 750 minutes a month, unlimited PCS to PCS, n&w starting @ 7 pm all for $75/month plus tax.

No. My parents are worried about us buying too many phones and having them laying around the house. Personally I don't know that is the cause.....but it is.

Again, I will have to ask my parents about that since I am not absolutely sure that they want out of the contract....but I know I do since the coverage is bad in my house.
