Default newbie with a question

I have an LG VX8000 that I upgraded to an LG VX8300 recently. I am donating the old phone to a women's shelter and have reset defaults and cleared my memory etc but...my phone number is listed on the "system, device info" menu. I cant get it off...the phone is definetly not active. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Welcome to WA Clueless One. To erase your mobile number out of your LG handset:
Hit Menu, then enter 0,
the code is 000000
Hit option 1 for "Service Prg."
Go through the menu till you come to "phone number (MDN)" and enter 0000000000, then press OK
Next you will see a screen that says "phone number (MIN), enter 0000000000 and press OK
After you do these steps keep hitting OK to go through the screens until your phone powers down. When the phone powers itself back on again it will display something like "Activation Required". Your number is now erased from the phone.

Glad to help. I've sold many of my LG phones on eBay and this has always worked for me as well.
