Post SIDs and NAM1

I posted this to the Alltel site (and am awaiting response from someone) because I am actually on the Alltel network. I know that the phone I have is the twin to the VX8600 and my husband's phone is the twin to the VX245. Can anyone help out here on the Verizon forum?
Thanks.

Hello all. Sorry to be picking your your guys' brains lately. I pretty much have figured out a lot about the phone and the service over the past few days from your replies to my original post "roaming on alltel"... I do, however, still have a few questions.
It seems that I am just outside of Alb. enough to be picking up the Santa Fe signal stronger, hence the flashing "r" on my screen. I went in and checked the "system" I was on, and according to all info someone sent, I am on the Santa Fe tower (or system, I have no idea). Someone was kind enough to send me the SID codes for the area (as well as the area I will be moving to here soon). Someone recommended going into my NAM1 settings and adding the Alltel towers and just selecting the phone to "home only" to insure that I am not really roaming. How do I do this? I know that if I enter "0" from the menu screen, it puts me into the programming code and that if I enter "000000" I can go in and change things, but can't find anything titled "SID" or anything like that.... Help would be greatly appreciated. Again, I have the LG AX8600 and my husband has the LG AX245. I am still sitting the fence on the Motorola E815 over it. I am giving it a week. So, if anyone out there knows how to do the same as far as the SID numbers for the Motorola E815, please let me know as well.
Another question, it seems that when I am on the phone and the "R" is flashing, that it still labels it as "roam" on my phone, even though the R is fhasking. What gives? Is it because it is not on its home tower?

Again, thanks for the great info. I have tried to contact customer service, but of course, they are closed today.

Alltel has a strong signal in both locations. It sounds like your PRL file has become corrupt which is easy to fix. Call *228 + SEND and choose the uption that updates your "Preferred Roaming List". This should take a minute, then let your phone reset, maybe another 10-20 seconds. Then it should not be showing "R" or "Roaming ".

There should be no need to mess w/NAM1. Alltel has a better signal there than Verizon, so if you have further difficulties, it may be necessary to take it to an Alltel store.

If you were to travel to a really remote location, where there is no Alltel service, you might look for tricks like these, but I can't think of a location like that anywhere in the state of NM.

Actually, programming NAM settings is very usful for those who live in low coverage or rural areas. You can lockout SIDs that may give you a solid R. Also, you can set it up that you may never see a flashing R while you are home, or close to home. There is more in the Alltel forums under "roaming on alltel???" & "SIDs and NAM1."
