my wife and i have separate accounts and the contracts have expired. so my wife could get the phone i want at the price i want as she has NE2. so i ordered the vx8600 online from her account. i was going to order a new phone for her from my account (she likes her phone still and was gonna order something similar and free). i got the phone today and it mentions something on the order of needing to activate the phone within 30 days or else being charged the difference between retail price and what i got it for. basically i want to have my number on her new phone and then her number on my new phone, and once that is done, switch over to family plan (as that puts you in a new 2 yr contract anyway). am i going about this the best way? when i activate thru the site do i "activate new phone" for her new phone from her old phone, than activate back to her old phone then "activate phone" in my account for me to get the new phone? |

Why not merge your plans togeather into a family plan first, then get new phones? Seems less complicated to me. -Jay |

You can always do an "ESN" change online in MyAccount. That way, you can swap phones as often as you want, and nothing will happen to your or her contracts.

Images: 130 | Phone discounts are separate from equipment discounts. If you sign a new contract and do not get an equipment upgrade, you are still eligible for it whenever that times comes.

i would just say make sure when you do all of it......you do it over the phone so you can explain all of it to a rep.......that way they can do it properly without racking up unneeded contract years

yeah but the mistake you could make is changing the plan and signing the 2yr contract and then calling to upgrade and they say that you already resigned a contract......that would seriously stink........so do the plan change and upgrades over the phone at the same time.......

step 1. Call to cancel your service. step 2. when asked why, explain that they would not allow you to 'family up' and give you any perks for being a longterm customer in good standing. step 3. accept their offer if you find it good enough to stay on without them oustide of a contract. If at the very worst, they say ok we will go ahead with the disconnect. You then will want to maybe say OK OK OK Wait.. or, just let them do it and resign on a family plan contract with as many perks as you can get. BUT This is all silly as, you are just wasting money. No matter what you do, you WILL eventually end up in a contract. If you don't want to be in a contract with them, then ask yourself why? Is it because you are not sure if you want to stay with Verizon? Then maybe you need to make the move. |
