VZW sent me this promotion that if I commit for 3 years instead of 2 they will give me an extra 100 minutes a month on top of my current plan. Not sure if this is worth it - I usually only go over my plan in the summer for like 2 months... but I wonder if you do commit for 3 years, if you still get ne2 and promotional pricing after 2....

i would think that you would bu when the two years on the ne2 is up you get that new phone for the same price you normally do and then you extend your contract another 2 years to make it 3 years again

Alltel gave me an extra 100 minutes simply as a thank you for being a customer afetr about a year and a half. 3 years! That's crazy!

I like verizon, but i'm already regretting my 2 year contract. I wish I renewed for a year only. There's no way I'd do a 3 year contract unless I get everything and the kitchen sink... And even then i may pass!

If that offer was made available to me, I don't think I would sign up for a total of three years unless you are extremely happy with Verizon.

If you are, then I say go for it. If not, then I would say wait.

Yeah - I guess if I take into consideration that their NE2 will drop from $100 to $50 , I may be less inclined to stay at the end of my 2 yr contract

Wow that's insane! Three years?!? That's just too long. I wish carriers would do 18 month contracts instead of 2 year contracts.

I wish they would go back to 1 year. Back in the day they were all 1 year

Now you have to ask for a 1 year contract. The carriers just give less perks like no NE2 or higher phone prices... I may just ride out my contract at the end of my term in 08... Or i may leave maybe the landscape will be different by then.

A co-worker of mine recieved the same letter and asked my opinion, I advised him against it saying it wasn't worth the extra 100 Minutes a month.

I think the nut case took it though, I do wish all carriers would have just a 1 year contract, but that may look bad for the investors, knowing they don't have people "Stuck" for 2 years, or paying a heafty ETF.

I have been a VZW for the past 7 years or so - if you do commit for 3 years - you can still upgrade after 22 months with the ne2 - still dont think its worth it...
