I don't since I'm trying 2 keep the bill down. When I upgraded in July, the rep did the phonebook exchange for free. For now, i'll just take the chance by not backing up the phonebook.

I use it, it's only $1.99 a month. I think backup assistant is well worth it since I have a lot of contacts and in case something happens to my phone do not want to lose them all.

Cool... Not having it works 4 me as I only have about 60 contacts and I have the info saved in my old phone. I rather keep the $2+tax.

Supposedly, on November 16th, Verizon is suppose to offer free backups through "My Account" on their website.

I also use Backup Assistant and I think it's worth the $1.99/month to have peace of mind knowing that my contact list is backed up in case my phone is ever lost, stolen or damaged. It automatically backs up any changes to your contact list every day at the time of day you specify.

After you download it and backup your contacts, your contact list is also available at the following link.

https://ba.mightybackup.com

For more info, you can get more info about it at the following link.

Where did you get this information from?? This would be very nice to have for free then Verizon would have something on SIM cards that I like so much.

A bunch of VZW employees announced it on HoFo last week. If you are signed up for "My Accounts" on the website, you will be able to use the backup assistant for free. I'm sure VZW will have some type of formal announcement soon.

You know I remember back a while that I signed on to my account and then I had a survey popped up. In there I was asked what one feature would I like for free I chose backup assistant over everything else. Maybe there was alot of these done.

I just checked the Website and also Backup Assistant in GIN and no mention of this being a free service. It still shows $1.99 a month.
I personally use MPT and back my Contact list up there.

I just set it up. It says it will charge you $1.99 per month but if you have "My Account" access set up they will waive the $1.99 charge a month. You can find more information on "My Account" section "My Contacts".

"My Contacts". For me, it is just to the right of the already existing "My Phone" section (with its NE2 meter).

Verizon associated with the word FREE. Isn't that an oxymoron? LOL

I just signed onto "My Account" on the Verizon Wireless website and next the NE2 meter is a new box that allows you to manager your contacts on your phone and schedule updates.....FOR FREE!!!!!

I haven't played around with it yet but i guess this means no more $10 fee to transfer phone numbers when changing phones.

Since I am a fan of free, I decided to go for it I'll have to do the same for mom's phone when I visit my hometown... all she does is enter the number manually and hit the green button on the V325 lol. I could create the entries myself from a computer and she won't have to do a thing

i don't know if any of you realize but this is one of the new ways vzw intends to drop there churn below the 0.1% level.

If I benefit from their changes, I'm all for it!!! Too bad I won't be able to take advantage of the prorated contract since I upgraded 4 months ago.

I love it. Nothing better than free, but after using it I would of spent the two dollars. Go for it...it's slick.
