You have two options - if you only want to block your outbound caller ID on certain calls, just put a *67 in front of the number you are dialing. If you want to block your caller ID on ALL outgoing calls, you can contact VZW customer service (800-922-0204 or 611 from your phone) and they can do that for you.

Hope that helps.

Welcome to WA! NJ Pubcrawler is right. You need to call CS to get your caller ID permanently blocked. However, in the future could you not choose pink for your text? Pink against a white background is very hard to read, especially for us "old" folks .

hehe, i had actually tried *67 and number. to see if it was blocked while calling my friend, but it end up being the wrong number?
am i suppose to put *67 area code then number?

anyways thanks a lot for your tip. i was hoping there was a way to do it on the phone itself, like how my old phone would.

sorry for the pink btw.

You can do it on the phone itself on GSM handsets, but not CDMA.

One other item to remember about Verizon, and caller ID blocking, anyone who you call who also has Verizon, they would be charged peak minutes instead of IN network minutes.

Not so!
What you are probably refering to is the fine print on the agreement.
Verizon recognizes other VZW phones for billing purposes so blocked caller ID does NOT exclude IN network calls as "in". Ask a cs person that knows.

Also, if you want to have permanent Caller ID blocking on the account, there is no fee for it either

Here is a cut and paste directy from Verizon's website:

National IN Calling
If Caller ID is not present or Caller ID Block is initiated, National IN Calling does not apply to incoming calls and will apply to outgoing calls only. National IN Calling is not available to customers whose wireless exchange restricts the delivery of Caller ID or with fixed wireless devices with usage substantially from a single cell site. National IN Calling does not apply if Call Forwarding or No Answer/Busy Transfer features are activated or to data usage, including Push to Talk calls, Picture Messaging or Video Messaging, calls to check your Voice Mail and calls to Verizon Wireless customers using any of the VZGlobal services. National IN Calling does not apply in those areas of Louisiana and Mississippi where your phone’s roaming indicator flashes.

And I can verify that it will not be billed as IN network if the caller ID is blocked, as a former girlfriend changed her number and then was calling me with her number blocked and all of those calls were charged as peak when I knew they were from her cell.

If the blocked calls are counted as in, it'll be a pleasant surprise

I also have this same problem, was there ever a solution outside of calling them. It worked for like 4 days but then I just got this message all the time. I apologize if this is a stupid question or has been asnwered somewhere else etc. However, I just found this site via google and it looked like the only place that may have a viable solution. Thank you for any help that can be given.
