I bought my wife a V3M from Amazon. No place to mark that I want insurance. Activate phone through the automated system. Called Verizon a couple weeks later to have insurance added to the account. They say they cannot do it because it is past 15 days. Low and behold a few days later the phone is on the kitchen counter and something wet gets on the counter. NOT a big spill, just some water. Seeps through the cracks of a razor like an open flood gate. Phone is dead less then 1 month and no insurance. What do I do? Thanks, Chris |

I had a similar problem with dropping my phone in slush. I dried it out overnight on the HVAC vent, and took it to the Verizon store. Showing no visible signs of damage from dropping or water in the phone because it was dry, they replaced it under warranty - since most phones have a 1 year warranty from the manufacturer. Mine too was a Motorola. It would turn on, but the keypad wasn't working except for the On/Off buttons. So, dry that baby out and take it in for a replacement. Good luck! | |

One of the disadvantages of havign such a thin phone. Take the battery out and hit with a hair dryer and do the same thing with the inside. Leave the back open overnight make sure everythign is completely dry. Try the phone again. If no luck, take it to a store and see if they will exchange. They probably will not if the white dots on the battery and in the phone compartment are red. this indicates water damage. They may offer you a refurbished phone for $50. If not, then you may have to pay full price for another phone. |
