I need some help here. I recently bought a phone from someone and tried to activate it, but Verizon said that the old account is still active on it. And that I should contact the person to tell them to call Verizon and cancel their account. But I can't seem to get a hold of that person. So I don't know what to do. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I would say wait a couple months and let the bill rack up......maybe the person will get the bill notices and they will cancel it eventually..... do you already have an active Verizon account? Have you tried to use the ESN Switching tool on the site where you view your bill......i don't have Verizon but I have heard people use this tool instead of calling in.....it prolli still won't work since the ESN prolli gets cross-referenced with accounts when you do it online too but its worth a try |

Sounds like the guy that sold you the phone sold you a stolen one that hasn't yet been reported stolen to VzW.

no i didn't say use the phone.......i know that I would never do that.....thats probably the last thing I would do with a phone that I bought that was supposedly stolen....... there aren't any numbers in the contact list???.........are there any settings in Verizon phones where you can leave your personal identification info.....im not very familiar with the Verizon UI and maybe you could also call Verizon to ask them to give you some way of contacting the person that the phone is attached to (plan-wise i mean)......and they might have more info on file for you to use to contact the original owner.......unless of course you payed a really big sum......then you might want to tell the original owners that and maybe they can get the person in trouble for theft..... i don't know but be a good person and do the right thing.......do all that is in your power to try and get it back to that person.....and don't use their service (Right.... steal service. i actually meant let the monthly rate rack itself up without using the service..........srry i was unclear on that |
