Default Replacement Phone

Long story as to why, but I am using an old LG phone, and would like to upgrade to a different phone. Basically, I would like a phone that has a speaker and voice dialing.

My only ugrade through VZW is at full retail until the first of next year.

EBAY is an option, but I am not completely comfortable with possible condition issues on used phones.

I read a post here on which someone said they bought a "pre-paid" phone plan phone from Best Buy for a minimal amount and activated it on their existing account with VZW- I guess if this is possible, it seems like lots of people would be doing it, unless the phones are poor quality, or very limited on features, etc. I would appreciate any information on this-

Thanks!

Default Re: Replacement Phone

I have seen posts of that also; as long as the phones arent activated on prepaid already you should be ok; just check out your local Besy buy or Wal mart. The Nokia 2128i is a basic candybar phone... you can just talk and TXT and is the lowest priced also. In my area's Target, they are also selling the Moto V276(?) which has mobile web and a basic camera on it. At best buy, they are selling the Pantech PN210 (plain flip w/ no features) and the PN215 (flip w/camera); I never owned a Pantech and I cant comment on its quality.

Just buy the phone and activate via internet or 611 (and tell them you had probs activating online). I used my LG VX3300 I had on EasyPay and as soon as I ran out of minutes, I started my contract service on it.

Cool Re: Replacement Phone

I am pleased to report that I purchased a Nokia 6015i from Best Buy for about $40.00, activated through the Verizon Wireless website, and it is functioning flawlessly. Thanks for the replies!
