i found this new verizon scha 950 phone. i called verizon to try to activate it. they told me that it was reported lost and all i could do is wait and see if it unlocks after a while. notohing has changed. is there n e way i can change the serial number to my busted ___ phone i am using right now? please help my current phone is ____ and i cant afford a new phone. please help!!!!!!!

Nope. Especially since that is a CDMA phone. It has been blacklisted by the carrier and there is nothing you can do about it. The only person who can activate it right now is the original owner.

How about trying to return it to the original owner?

We've had a lot of threads like this lately. Personally, I do everything in my power to return the phone to the owner. Only once did I not be able to figure out who a phone belonged to, and that phone is still sitting in my desk at work, should the owner ever come to claim it. My view is this: If you lost your phone, would you want it back? If you answer yes, (and most people would) then you should return it. It is just that simple.
