Default Question about peak/off peak

I'm under the 700 minute family share plan. I'm a cell noob so I was wondering about this. It says "Night Hrs (M–F): 9:01 p.m.–5:59 a.m.
Wknd Hrs: 12:00 a.m. Sat.–11:59 p.m. Sun"
That means if I call during those times, it won't take from my 700 minutes correct? So those times are free?

Yes, but make sure of the start time before you call... If you talk for 1 hour starting at 9:00 pm it will deduct 60 peak minutes, not 1 peak and 59 N&W. I made this mistake when I got my first cell phone years ago.

You may want to double check with Verizon. My son normally starts his calls prior to 9:01p & when I get the bill, the calls show up as "multi-rated". I addressed this to Verizon before & was told the call is billed as peak until 9:01 & then uses the off-peak minutes.
We also have a plan with Sprint & I know if a call starts prior to 7am, it will bill as "off-peak for the duration of the call.
Just my two cents worth.

Yeah, on my bill, when I start a call during peak time and go into off peak, the mins are counted accordingly; I have started calls at 8PM and talked till 10Pm and 61 peak mins were used. I have had the converse happen to me... calls started offpeak go into peak times and these mins were also counted correctly. This is known as span billing. On my bill these calls are denoted by a * and the TOTAL mins are counted but Peak and off pk are billed correctly.

In most areas Verizon does span-rate calls where they will not bill you from when your call was started even if it cuts into Off/Peak or Peak time, they will charge you until 9:01 and then swtich to unlimited Night minutes and vice versa.

this is no longer true if you start at 9:00 and talk till 10:00 you will be billed for 1 peak minute and 59 offpeak.

Meh I haven't started any during peak time that ended in off peak time. I've started them all in off peak time.
