Default End of Contract Question; Individual to Family

Currently our household has 2 VZW contracts. I have an individual contract and the Mrs. has a Family share plan w/ 3 lines on it. Since we went to a flat rate Voice over IP solution at the house, we don't use the cell phones much at all anymore and our minute consumption is way down.

If I let my contract lapse at the end of the year, can I port my VZW number over and just add a line to our Family share plan? I understand I'll lose my NE2 but it's only $50 clams right now anyway. I figure our total VZW bill will drop at least $30 per month so I'll save enough to overcome the NE2 savings.

Thanks in advance!

If the other account is in her name, you could use your NE2, then just do a change of responsibility and merge that number into the family share.

Thanks but if I do a NE2, I thought I had to extend my individual contract.

Yes, but she could take it over as a change of responsibility, and then it's no issue to make it a family share line when it's in her name and she has other lines.
