Default I have changed companies.. (again)

LOL, well I'm going to give it a go with Verizon. My phone comes in tomorrow afternoon! I can hardly wait! Never thought I'd give Verizon a try but as long as I don't drop anymore calls or worse, CALL FAILED!

Join the club.

I took my Nokia 2128i up to Montreal recently and the phone displayed a full signal pretty much everywhere in Montreal. The lone exception was inside the Casino de Montreal, which was expected.

The networks up there are 1900 MHz and it roamed on both Bell Mobility and Telus Mobility, depending on where I was in the city.

Since the phone (up there) was able to receive a decent signal, I am now convinced that the problems I'm having with Verizon at present, are network-related, not with the phone. Verizon either has a capacity problem in my immediate area, or there are not enough cellsites to provide a strong signal.

I thinking capacity reason is Verizon has been shooting towers up left and right in New England where they have had ok to good coverage. That to mean means that capacity must be the main issue. I am sure some of it is getting better coverage.

I'm considering switching from Sprint to Verizon, better coverage here in NYC. Guess if I want a toy to go along with my phone I'll pick up a PSP or the new Nintendo offering.

Wow. I never ever thought you would even consider joining the 'dark side'...Good luck with Verizon, as well as your new phone. Let us know how their coverage compares in your area.

So far so good. The call quality is AMAZING. So clear and I have full bars everywhere so far. We'll see how these couple of days go, but I think this might be a keeper.

What's been happening locally (SID 28), is that if I am very close (within 1 1/2 miles) to a Verizon cellsite, the phone will display a full signal. Everywhere else, it's between 2 and 3 bars (out of 7). I have had some calls resulting in dead air, which I had not been charged for, as well as a couple of dropped calls.

FWIW, in Vermont (SID 300, Verizon) I was getting mostly between 3 and 5 bars along I-89 in the mountains. Being in the mountains, I would consider those signal levels, excellent.

EXCELLENT!!! Keep us updated, but so far it sounds like Verizon is great in ElPaso. I still can't believe you even ever considered switching to the dark side.
