Default Two questions:

This "NAM 1" or "NAM 2" thing under the System menu. What the hell is that? I have it set on Auto, and it seems to do OK.

Other question: I'm looking to replace my LG VX3200 at some point. Requirements:

1. Free with plan
2. Flip phone
3. Long battery life--esp. for standby
4. Camera or not--don't care about bluetooth, texting, VCast, etc.--just wanna make and get calls
5. Speakerphone must be loud and clear

Suggestions? I love the 3200, but I might have hurt the battery life by not charging it up before the first time I used it.

BTW, I stripped the threads on my phone's antenna by twisting it absentmindedly. Fixed it with superglue. Good as new!

Thanks, guys.

LOL, I did that a few times on my V60. Worked like a charm.

The NAM's (Number Address Module) original purpose was to allow 2 different numbers to be assigned to the same phone. I don't why the still offer it when most carriers won't allow a 2nd number associated with your phone's serial number.

A new phone is a very personal choice. The best way to choose is to play with some at a store, then buy wherever you feel confident. One thing to watch for is that the 3200 is a "tri-mode' phone. If you ever use the analog section of that phone, you should consider another tri-mode phone. My choice among those would be the Motorola V325, which is getting very good reviews.

Are you eligible for New Every Two? Verizon doesn't have as many free phones as the other carriers. With New Every Two, you get $100 off the two year contract price of a phone.
