I found my LG3200 phone in a bowl with just a small bit of milk in it the other morning(on it's side...so just the edge got wet). Don't ask. Anyway, it hasn't worked since. I'm sure I have messed with it enough by now to probably ruin it completely, so my question is this: If there is no red mark behind the battery, might I get a replacement because my phone "just stopped working"?

Sometimes, the best bet is to take the battery out, blow dry it as well as you can (without high heat) for a few minutes, and let it dry for 12-24 hours. Then try to re-charge it. DO NOT try to re-charge it before you have laid it out to dry. My LG-VX10 spent a rainy night in a puddle, was clearly packed with mud. I took the screws out, wiped down the chips with kleenex and a small bit of water, blew dried it, let it sit, then charged it two days later. It worked, and fine I might add, But I had insurance, and wanted a VX4400 at that point anyway. So, I made a claim, and went and got one. The newer phones seem to die more easily with moisture. Needledss to say, they don't make them like they did even a couple of years ago. Although, this has worked for friends of mine with samsung (color) GSM phones. |

I did an auotpsy on my friends phone after he turned it on and tried to make calls when water was still inside (toilet drop). FRIED! Personally, in a last ditch attempt to save a phone, I'd take the battery out and rinse the handset in distilled water, if necessary, to remove water soluble gunk, then use some 99% alchohol to dry out the water. Then disassemble as much as possible and dry the handset VERY well. Putting current through a flamable liquid isn't a good idea either! Skipping the distilled water rinse is an option. Don't rinse a battery. Water will fry the controller chip, as I found out after putting a battery throught the wash cycle The actual LI cell still seemed full of charge. Made lots of sparks and produced a nasty smelling gas when I cut through it to see what was inside the little metal can. NOT Recommended, but intersesting (Usual disclaimers ..use at your own risk) - Sid | |

When my sons girlfriend dropped her phone in the toilet (into clear water) it quit working. I took it apart and got out as much water as possible and then put it in the oven at lowest heat with door open unitl it was dry. Took it out and left it open overnight and put back together in the morning and it worked when powered on. |
