Angry Horrible Service!

I bought a Verizon cell phone, but it was defective. Their customer service department would not send me a different phone even though I bought the phone 2 weeks prior. I canceled my service. Then, Verizon billed me for the activation fee and the 2 weeks of "service." I called their corporate office and spoke with their Executive service department. I told them I shouldn't have to pay for service I never received. A Verizon exec. replied that I should have called Verizon and simply exchanged the phone. I told him that I did try to do just that but they refused. He just said that he was sorry and they were wrong for doing that. It took me 6 months of fighting to get a full refund.

If the first rep you talked to refused to exchange your phone(which they shouldn't have within two weeks and which I've never heard them do) then hang up and call again. Also, a Verizon store would have swapped the phone right out.

If it was defective, and you couldn't use it at all why didn't you immediately take it back to the store? Whenever I've bought a new phone I always make a call to make sure it works before I leave the store.

Where did you buy the phone? There is only on coporate store in the Kalamazoo area. Did you go to an agent?

What was the specific problem with the phone? Did the handset not work at all, or did you only have problems placing and receiving calls in areas that you frequent such as your home or workplace?

I'm trying to figure out if you had a coverage problem or handset problem. The remedies would be different.
