Text and Voicemail Indicator

Ok well last night at about 5pm my voice mail and text message indicator started to not show up when people left me messages. I thought if I would leave it over night maybe the problem would fix itself. Well I had to call CS today and they transfered me to technical support and they seemed to fix the problem.

Well again tonight the same thing. And here is the wierd thing I can send text messages to others but I am not able to recieve anything to my phone and I have to call voice mail to know if I have them. So what could this be I am using a LG VX4400. So if anyone else has had this problem let me know I am sick of calling CS.

It's been a while since I used my 4400, but IIRC, There may be an option to able/disable the icon, if you dig in the menu system. If not, I'm tapped!!! HTH!!!

Well I called CS again and they had to send me to technical support once again. The guy was very cool about it and good thing I am very laid back because I bet this would have pissed of some people. He said that this is very rare that this happens. He had to bascically reset everything on my account it works now so wish me luck.

When I worked for VZW years ago we would occasionally have that problem. Removing the "Message Waiting" flag (MWAIT) from the user's account then re-installing it usually fixed the problem. That's probably what he did.

Ryan, this may not actually apply in your case, but I'll throw it out there anyway. I had a text message block on one of my lines at the time Verizon updated their VM system. All of a sudden I wasn't getting messages from anybody. It took several calls to figure out that the message block was the problem.

I know that Verizon has been updating their VM again, so I'm wondering if you are in a recently updated area and something on your account is keeping the messaging icons from showing up. I don't know it this has anything to do with it but I owned a VX4400 when this happened to me. It was on that phone line I had all of the message notification problems.

SLC has been upgraded a week or two ago and his area is due now, so that might be the case.

Let's hope it keeps working. I've never heard of anyone having this problem before...
