Best web browser in a non-smartphone?

The Family Connect plans seem to be more and more useless as more and more phones are considered "smartphones" by Verizon. They require you buy a $30 or $45 data package for each phone.

So...

What's the best browser in a non-smartphone? My bet is that the next iteration of the env Touch will be considered a smartphone but we'll see.

Currently I own the env2 and the browser stinks. env3 looks exactly the same. I want something that won't rearrange the page or take forever to scroll through. Zooming, I'm guessing, would probably be necessary to keep the page format the way it's meant to be seen.

Flash and Java would be great too.

Is there anything that Verizon is putting out that fits what I need and will allow me to use just the family connect plan instead of the $30 data and email package for each phone?

Anything on the horizon into the summer (when my contract ends) that I can look forward to?

One thing to remember about non-smartphones is that you are not using a "web browser" as you traditionally think of it, nor was the phone ever designed to display real WWW pages. Mobile phone browswers were designed to use the Mobile Web, a set of pages designed specifically for mobile phones. Many pages on the real WWW are not written in languages the phone does not know how to understand so it won't connect.

So don't expect miracles for web surfing from your mobile unless you opt for a true browser, which is likely going to only be available on a smartphone.

Oh, and the enV Touch does require a data plan at this point (either a $9.99 or $19.99 add on, or the phone must be on a connect or premium plan) just like the Samsung Rogue. They are enhanced multimedia phones, which require data packages.

Does the "mobile web" that's included in the Connect plans allow access to the entire internet? Because that's the plan I'm looking at as it's advertised as having "unlimited mobile web" but it's not clear what the difference is between mobile web and the $30 5Gb plan.

Yeah it does. But your device has to support it. You could see if Opera Mini might work.
