Cell USCC International CDMA Roaming

So, upon recently calling USCC roamer support, I found that USCC only offers international CDMA roaming in Canada, Mexico, and the USVI. Interesting.

I was calling in order to do a price comparison for my sister's trip to china this summer. I guess we'll be sticking with Verizon then for a little while.

I believe that China (and most of the rest of the world) is GSM and so CDMA roaming is limited.

Yea, China UNICOM has CDMA. It's 1.25/min International Roaming on VZW, compared to 2.25/1.99 (world traveler) with ATT GSM. So much for GSM being cheaper for international roaming! I can see my parents wanting to spend $12.50 to talk to her for ten minutes when she lands, but not $22.50!

The best deal is to buy a pre-paid SIM and stick it in the phone.

I'm sure 95% of USCC's customers only desire to do roaming in Canada and Mexico... So it makes sense to me....

I have a great T-Mobile Moto V3t(unlocked), and when traveling internationally, a pre-paid SIM card can be purchased and quickly installed for use in the areas abroad and to call back home. It is really the cheapest, reliable way I have discovered.
