Default Speedtalk being discontinued

So I was in a USCC store today,

The rep said that the company was discontinuing speedtalk at the end of the month due to a lack of interest in the service. She said that existing customers would not lose the service, but it would not be available for new lines.

Can anyone else verify this?

Any current ST customer will be able to keep their plan, and ST will still be supported. They are not going to continue to offer it in stores, but it will be available for business accounts.

PTT will remain untapped with other carriers until there is interoperability between all carriers.

Could you imagine if you could only text someone within your network? Text messaging wouldn't be nearly as popular and most people would think it stupid.

When USCC started it, thats how it was. When they did it for free for the first couple months they had it here with TDMA, it was only to other USCC customers.
