LG Vx4400B "Auto Volume" what is it?

Been using the 4400B for a week now and am pleased with the exception of battery power. Seems to work reliably even on "one bar" antenna power.

I have searched forums, the LG website without an answer. What does "Auto Volume" do?

Seems such a good device would have a complete manual. Poorest excuse for a Manual I've seen !!

Welcome ChasD to Wireless Advisor's.

I am not positive, but I am pretty sure that Auto Volume helps adjust the volume when you are talking to someone to help reduce the background noise so they can hear you, and you can hear them.

I hope this helps.

Tony will also answer your question, since he is more knowleadable than I am.

Auto Volume adjusts the volume of the earpiece based on ambient noise around you. Let's say you are on a busy street or in a loud club the volume will raise so you can hear the party on the other line better without having to adjust the volume manually on the side of the phone. I am usually in noisy environments and I use this feature all the time and it works great.

THANKS much for the "Auto Volume" response. It still astounds me that LG has not produced a more comprehensive Manual to accompany such a fine instrument.

ANOTHER QUESTION: Is it still needful to exhaust the battery completely 3 times to help it hold a charge longer? I thought the Li-Ion batteries did not suggest such a procedure.

Thanks Again.... Charles

RE: the battery.
NO! you don't have to discharge it like a Nmh or Ni cad. I still do on occasion.
But then again my LG batteries have not lasted long at all.
Have replaced several in a year.
And after a year there is a charge for replacement, regardless of having an extended warranty.

SURE DID... TNX re: "Battery University!" Interesting & useful info.

GREAT FORUM HERE!! Most especially due to the regrettable lack of complete documentation on the VX4400B. I'm still learning the capabilities of the phone and appreciate all the help available here.
