Hello, I'm looking for a wireless glossary. And, I have a question: does anyone have ideas about how I could get cell phones (1900mhz) cheap or for free to take to Ugandan friends? We have a small not-for-profit (Real Partners Uganda, Inc.) involved in community development, education and conservation, and our partners there badly need cell phones. We can give tax receipts for gifts. Thanks, Mimi |

Hi: My name is Steve and I live in NH. I just got an LG VX5300, which is my first fone with a camera and Bluetooth. I'm here to find out what I can do with it. I got a Bluetooth dongle for my PC and I'm trying to connect the 2 without having to buy a USB cable. |

Wassup. Just checking in. Been a wireless phone user since '96. Been through Sprint, AT&T, MCI Worldcom (remember them?), Verizon (current). Used Qualcom, Nokia, LG, Panasonic, Ericsson, Motorola, Samsung, Sanyo. Looking for info about using TF cards w/ my latest, rather unfortunate purchase, the Razr V3M. Could use some help with whether or not should waste more money getting USB connection kit and TF card. help....? |

First of, welcome to WA. A lot depends on what you want to do with the V3m. There is a number of FREE software that will allow you to ul/dl files to/from the phone. The First is BitPim. It is FREE off the Internet. You will have to buy a cable for the phone, though. Then there is Motorola Phone Tools or MPT. You can get this failry cheap off of the Internet also. It comes with the needed cable(s). If I was going to buy MPT again, I would get it with the BONUS CD. It has a bunch of free stuff on it like, ringtones, music, and other things. It will also allow you to change up your phone. Then you will probably need Motorola Software Upgrade or MSU and P2K seem editor. Both of these are free off of the Internet, also. Both of these are needed to un-cripple the phone so that you can yul/dl files to/from the phone. If you do not get MPT, then you will have to buy a cable. For more info, see the RAZR thread on this forum and if you have any questions, please post them there. I hope this helps some and again, welcome to WA. | |

Thanks. Been a while since I've gotten a straight answer. My fear after reading threads on various forums is that the phone, being locked by Verizon, will be useless. I'm stuck with Verizon because I use their EV-DO for my laptop. ps Saw that you too got the chocolate. I actually gave it back swapping it for this phone. Frying pan into fire or what?! |

Hello, thank you for having me here. I have a black Motorola RAZR V3 with Cingular. It is fairly modded (9600kb free space, ringlights, SEEM edits, skins, startup/shutdown animations, etc.). I only mention it because I am a Mac user, and used a program called Moto4lin. I believe that this is the only p2k program out there for Mac users right now who want to mod their Moto. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I am looking forward to being a member here, and continuing my search for knowledge. |
