Help add to the Wireless Advisor Community Cell Site Map! I am willing to bet that a large majority of members on this forum can pinpoint at least 20 cell sites in their local neighborhood. Now is your opportunity to share that knowledge with the rest of the WirelessAdvisor.com members. I have opened my google map page so that all members can add to the original map I made last year. Its really simple! All you have to do is:
Follow the link below, and click edit on the left hand side of the page. Once the map loads, click the add a placemark button (which is between the hand icon and the line graph looking icon), and place it on the map. Once placed, under title type "On-Building" for a roof mounted or building mounted site, "Monopole" for a monopole, or "Radio Tower" or "Lattice Tower". Under description, feel free to write in any known carriers.
For an added bonus, if that tower already exits int he Cell Site Gallery, go to that page and extract the DIRECT LINK CODE, and using the Rich Text option under description in google, add an image using that link.
ENJOY!

Re: Help add to the Wireless Advisor Community Cell Site Map! Thanks must go out to J...or Joe, whoever that is using that name registered on Google. Thank you very much for messing with my entire map, moving my placements that have been there for over a year. I made an attempt at sparking some life back into these forums, and it clearly failed.
The map is now closed, as it's pretty much useless now. Until whoever this person was appologies, the map will remaine closed, and I will no longer be posting on this forum. Thanks, Joe."'Current Sprint Service Can Not Be Used' What the hell does that mean?!?"

Re: Help add to the Wireless Advisor Community Cell Site Map! So you're saying that someone here on WA intentionally messed up your maps? How do you know it was someone here?

Re: Help add to the Wireless Advisor Community Cell Site Map! I am sorry that had to happen, Yankees368. I have to agree with Jay. I highly doubt any regular WA member would take the time to destroy a dedicated member's hard work. In my opinion, it was either a member that was recently banned or someone that has nothing better to do than to destroy a person's hard work.
Whoever did this apparently does not appreciate someone's hard work of taking their own time to share their observations of wireless towers in their local area(s). They must also get a kick out of messing up people’s hard work. Way to go.

Re: Help add to the Wireless Advisor Community Cell Site Map! I really dont think it was someone who randomly just found the map. I have a hard enough time finding it myself through googles map directory.

Re: Help add to the Wireless Advisor Community Cell Site Map! Yankees368 -
I count 55 sites Last Updated by JOE or J on Dec 21.
They are all on the 1st page of listings and that is less than 1/5 of the total you mapped. Whoever did is a jack____, but it doesn't look like a fatal blow to your map.
Is the problem that they have been dragged off the the original spot you where you pinpointed them?
Are they way off course?Joe

Re: Help add to the Wireless Advisor Community Cell Site Map! I suppose I could just delete those points that are messed with. Those points were GPS cordinates off my old Sanyo M1, and I have no record of the location other than that man.
If anyone else wants to add to the map, I will send an invite to anyone who requests it."'Current Sprint Service Can Not Be Used' What the hell does that mean?!?"

Re: Help add to the Wireless Advisor Community Cell Site Map! Yeah, I was going to suggest can you make it a private map? Is that what you mean by asking for an invite? That's unfortunate that that has happened...
I tried mapping just one tower in my town... and now it's not even on the map... (even if you go to the second page of pushpins).

Re: Help add to the Wireless Advisor Community Cell Site Map! Yankees368, this is a great map and I hope you keep it going. There is one mark that needs to be added (based on what I told by one of my friends at AT&T
(a couple years back) that there is an antena on top of Lord and Taylor in Garden City in the block of 12th and 13th street and west of Franklin Ave. ( 40.733440, -73.637457) . If I remember the others, I will PM you with the locations.

I have been to all these cell sites, and have pix of about half of them in the SC Pic Gallery:

Re: Help add to the Wireless Advisor Community Cell Site Map! This is a late post, but I must say Yankee368, I'm a little jealous of your map. I've been trying to upload pics of my sites onto my map, and as frustated as I get, it doesn't seem to work. Are you able to show me what you type in to get the pics uploaded? I'm a little new to this.
Great work on your map, and even though stuff was messed around on it, it still looks great. Keep it up!

Re: Help add to the Wireless Advisor Community Cell Site Map! Why thank you, it took a lot of time to get that made to the point at which i had it to.
Basically, to add pictures to the postings, open the point on the map, click edit, switch to rich text. Now, go to the page on the forums with the picture of the tower, and copy the direct link code. Back in google, click the picture button, and in the dialog paste the link. That is all!
