Arrow Wireless posting upgrade

The software that handles wireless device access to the forums has just been upgraded.

Please test it out and post any issues here.

Here is a list of what has been upgraded or fixed:

Quote:
------------------------------------

- Two New XHTML-MP themes entitled "onyx" and "rose" have been added.

- A "jump to last page" image-based link is now displayed next to all thread links, allowing you to quickly access the last page of a thread while in XHTML-MP mode.

- When using a Blackberry handheld in XHTML-MP mode, a "Menu" link is now displayed at the top of the page in order to circumvent the browser's lack of accesskey support.

- Minor UI improvements.

Resolved Issues:
----------------------------

- The inability to successfully switch between various WML WiStyles has been resolved

- Enabling post truncation via My Prefs no longer results in your threads per post setting being set to the default forum wide value.

- An issue where the "Wirelessly Posted" text would not be added to wireless posts depending on server configuration has been addressed.

Joe,
I'm not sure if this is related to the upgrade or if it's just an unrelated temporary outage, but when I try to access the WAP page, only a blank page is shown. I've tried this on a few phones with the same results. This includes my Nokia E70-2 (Safari & Opera Mini browsers) regardless how I connect. as well as my Handspring Treo 600. I can still access the full HTML site through these phones. I've cleared the cache and cookies with no difference. I'll try to test a few more phones to see if I get any better results.

It appears there is a problem with the upgrade. It will take some time to find the cause.

Is there anybody who does NOT see a BLANK page when going to wap.wirelessadvisor.com on a wireless device?

I used it this a.m. without issue after getting "No Gateway Reply" messages on several attempts last night.

Now I need to find the "jump to last page" link. LOL!! I just typed the last page number in the "page x of xx pages" link.

Nice work Joe (and others responsible). I particularly like the "Onyx" theme. I will have to try this out in direct sunlight tomorrow and see how it behaves. I also really like the "jump" to the last page button. It is a very handy feature.

Keep up the good work!

UPDATE:

The only thing I still notice is when I click on my profile name, I still see my old avatar that I had a few years ago (I am assuming the one I first used when I first started browsing WA00.com). Any ideas why it is still like this? Thanks in advance.

HME83,

The "jump" to the last page icon is to the right of each of the threads. It looks like a fast forward icon with a paper icon right next to it. Hopefully this helps.

Joe,

Another thing I just noticed is I updated my post (posted # 13) on the WA00 site on my Treo, and it didn't show up when I hit refresh on my laptop even though it said my update was successful on my Treo. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Joe, I have the same problem. If I don't edit it at once, even though it says "edited" the changes are not there. It has been like that for me; I come back to the regular site & hit edit & then save & then the changes show up.

PS: I found this post, so for me it doesn't have anything to do with the upgrade.
