Talking CONTEST! The Webmaster's New Phone Contest : Poll

This PART 2 of The Webmaster Needs a New Phone Contest.
In a nutshell, whatever the forum members choose, is the phone I will buy.

(Here is a link to part 1) (CONTEST! The webmaster needs a new phone contest.)

To enter this contest all you have to do is vote in the poll above.

To keep the number of poll items reasonable, I have combined some of the suggestions from part 1 and eliminated a few phones that were not available or too expensive (E-90). If the combined poll items of Blackberries or Treos win, it'll be my choice of specific model.

Vote in this poll and you will get one entry into the contest. Anybody that posted a suggestion, already has one entry and will get a 2nd if they vote in the poll. YES that means they have a greater chance of winning.

All votes are public, one vote per user, all other previously mentioned rules apply. The winner will be selected by a random drawing starting with 1st prize through to 5th.

I'll let the poll run until Friday 11/23, with the option to extend it one more week until Friday 11/30.

VOTE IN THE POLL BY FRIDAY 11/30 TO ENTER THIS CONTEST

The Prizes are listed below.

Here are the details from Part 1.
Quote:
CONTEST!

It has been quite a while since we had a contest so let's make this a big one.

I couldn't decide whether to call this contest
The Webmaster Needs a New Phone Contest

or
The Wisdom of Crowds Contest.

I need a new phone bad and I'm going to leave the selection entirely up to the WA community.
You guys can stick it to me with the worst crap phone out there or the nicest smartphone available. (w/ some small exceptions; see the rules below.)

So how is this a contest?
Any WA member with more than 10 on-topics posts is eligible for two entries in this contest. The winner will be chosen at random from those entered.

How do you enter?

#1 Post in this thread with your suggestion for which phone I should buy.
#2 Vote in the poll for the final selection.
(If you only do one of the above you get only one entry. Once the poll starts #1 is closed.)

Prizes:
1st: $250 gift certificate/card for Amazon.com
2nd: $100 gift certificate/card for Amazon.com
3rd: $50 gift certificate/card for Amazon.com
4th: Choice of any available WA shirt
5th: Choice of any available WA shirt

When does it end?
I don't know yet. Let's see how it goes, but it won't run for more than 60 days...I'm hurtin' bad for a new phone.

Some more Rules:
  • The selected phone can not cost more than $1000. (so no Vertu).
  • No iPhone...cause I just don't want one.
  • Phone has to be for a tier 1 carrier, you can specify which one or not in your suggestion.
  • Sorry, no substitutions on the prizes.
  • Everyone except administrators is eligible for this contest.

That's pretty much it. The contest starts NOW in this thread.

Tell me what phone to get...it is entirely up to the WA community.

I'll answer questions about the contest, but I won't offer any input on the phone choice.
Prizes:
1st: $250 gift certificate/card for Amazon.com
2nd: $100 gift certificate/card for Amazon.com
3rd: $50 gift certificate/card for Amazon.com
4th: Choice of any available WA shirt
5th: Choice of any available WA shirt

GOOD LUCK.....Pick me good one!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++++++++++++++++++
* Update 12/3/07

I just pulled these names out of a bowl...........

Here are the WINNERS!

1st: $250 gift certificate/card for Amazon.com
TONY E!

2nd: $100 gift certificate/card for Amazon.com
Sailorcancer

3rd: $50 gift certificate/card for Amazon.com
nick2588

4th: Choice of any available WA shirt
josephd

5th: Choice of any available WA shirt
kashkanantambu

Congratulations to all the winners!

If you see your name here, please send me a PM and we'll work on getting your prize to you.

I still say the Mogul if you are going to stay with Sprint. I played with the Touch when we got them in and e-mailing and texting are horrible.

Thanks for taking my post in the other topic!

I still go for Razr 2, but Blackjack is pretty cool.

But I still say Razr 2.

I'm transformed! I had my heart set on an iPAQ or a V3xx.

Ok, I've switched my vote to the ATT Tilt!

The prospects of having built-in GPS and international roaming, and that kick ___ tilt up screen seal the deal over the Mogul for me. Don't forget the ROM issues with the Mogul.

I'm set!

The GPS is sweet. I moved my TomTom Navigator 6 software over to the Tilt, and installed the BIG map on a 4gb storage card. Now I can travel anywhere in North America and not have to switch maps. I can't wait till my next trip to Florida. I used to switch maps in North Carolina, now I can have it all on one map.

I didn't change my vote RAZR2 (V9m for Sprint), but I will back you up about the Mogul ROM issues. HTC did such a horrendous job with the latest ROM that even reverting back to the older ROM doesn't clear all the problems the new ROM caused.

Yeah, i've got the same map on my 2gb SD card. Now only if I had built in GPS instead of the stupid external thing I had to get.

That was a must have for me. I was spoiled by the built in GPS on my old iPAQ 6515 so much that I won't even consider a PDA or smartphone that did not have a GPS receiver built in.

Yankees368 - I was wondering if people could change their votes.....good.

Also, for easy reference, I made each poll item clickable to info. on the phones

Thanks for all the votes so far!
