Default JFB Multi Quote Feature Question

I can not use the multi - quote feature from my WM5 Blackjack or my WM 2003 IPAQ. The option is available but does not activate. I really like this feature so how can I make it work from my Blackjack?

Thanks much

Have you tried a different browser such as Opera Mobile or NetFront that has support for javascript?I don't believe that Pocket IE supports javascript.

I hope this helps!

Cool, I learn something new everyday. I always manually created the quote for additional posts.

I don't know what could be done on the forums end to fix that issue.

Is multi-quote the only thing that fails to work?

Yes that's the only feature that does not work from BlackjacK.

Thanks, yes it does. I haven't used a different browser because I can not seem to find Opera Mobile or NetFront for WM5, or anything for the Blackjack. Can you please point me in the right direction?

The trial version of Opera Mobile can be downloaded from: http://www.opera.com/products/mobile...cts/winmobile/

If your phone supports Java applications, you can use the free Opera Mini which is available from the same site.

Good luck!

No guarantee, but there's a pretty good chance that it will work as long as the application was written for the WM Smartphone platform.

Oops, wait a minute, I am probably going to have the same problem as with Google Maps & other Java based applications. It is going to ask permission to access everything. Aagh, I may just have to reconcile myself to not using Multi-quote. I will download the trial tomorrow and check it out.

Thank you very much

Opera Mobile isn't a java application. But if you can run java apps, you may want to also try out Opera Mini (it's a free java application)

Ok I was thinking Opera Mobile was a java application like Opera Mini. No I can not run java applications decently. Opera Mini asks for permission everytime. I should not have a problem with Opera Mobile then, oh good

Thank you very much

Blue4Life, I downloaded the trial version and tried it out. Unfortunately the mulit quote feature still didn't work and I couldn't make the display right due to the landscape screen layout of the Blackjack.

Oh well, we tried, thank you

Well I did see the multi and chose it and then used the quote but it seems that none took. I would think that this is an issue with the Devices as they might not be keeping the info as required.

Even though I did get it to work with the browser on my Nokia E70-2, it took a few me a few times to get the sequence right. I think part of the problem may be that there isn't any visual feedback to the user until you click on the Quote button. A checkbox for each post would provide visual feedback & would probably make the multi-quote feature slightly more user-friendly. I'll have to try this using Opera Mini later tonight to see if I can get it work using that browser.

I tried this a number of times, using the same sequence that I use from my laptop (where there is a visual feedback), but couldn't make it work with Pocket IE or Opera Mobile, so I think it is a devise/browser problem also.

I guess you just took away my reason to get the 8800. You know you and Paul discussing the 8800 was making me want it, I even called our Cingular store asked if they had it & they did.

I am not giving up yet. If I see something like this happens I always like to find out why even it if it does not work. In all honesty I don't use OM much but I need to look into its settings more closely and may be there is some thing in there that will let it happen. Or it could be something that I did wrong in my reply.

I guess you just took away my reason to get the 8800. You know you and Paul discussing the 8800 was making me want it, I even called our Cingular store asked if they had it & they did.
OK I have tried all including the BB browser and the most that is accomplished is the quote and when I choose multi it does nothing

Edit: The above was posted from the BB using the BB browser and it seems that it did not show it was posted from it and it shows like it was done from a PC. Right now I am going to give up until my brain stops from smoking it got over worked today.

I used the full not the wap and that could have been the reason it did not see it as a wireless. I needed to see the multiquote as the wap does not show it at all.

I am pretty sure that if you don't use the WAP site it won't show as a wireless post. I post from my Blackjack quite a bit, as I am now and it always shows up as regular post. When I want it show up as a wireless post I have to use the WAP site.

That is correct, remember Charlyee, I had the same issue. It must be http://wa00.com, or it will not post as wireless.

That would be it. One thing for sure is that I tried all possible settings on both the BB browser as well as OM including security settings and nothing allowed the multi. I can click it but nothing happens. Cookies are all allowed so if it supposed to write a cookie, may be it is not properly doing so. So the end for me if I use it there will be no multi. Oh yes, one feature I found on the new BB (thanks to this post) is that there is a setting to view the sites in screen mode similar to a PC with a mouse pointer and the hand for clicks. Works nice but need to get used to it (oh yes, for some reason when ever I click on the multi while in screen mode it goes into report abuse).

While the multi-quote function did work relatively well with the native browser in my Nokia E70-2, I ran into strange problem when using the Opera Mini browser. Every time I clicked on multi-quote, the status message on the bottom would display "PROCESSING" while reloading the entire page. Did anyone else have a similar experience? I imagine that there are other mobile browsers (especially Windows Mobile based) that should actually work correctly. When I eventually bring my i-mate PDA2k (WM2003SE PPC) back to life, I can do some more tests with more browsers.

I just tried it with Opera Mini on my 6131 and it exactly as you described. On my IPAQ hx 2415, which I believe is 2003 SE, the multi-quote feature does not work either.

I am glad my post made you discover a new feature on the 8800.

If I post using Opera Mini from my 6131, it shows up as a regular post, so the WAP site address is a must. BtW, I could never post from my QTEK 9100 as a wireless post, the WAP site would redirect me to the standard site.

PS: JFB or moderators - should this thread be moved to a more appropriate forum since it no longer is a site issue but more of a browser issue? Thanks much
