Hotmail accounts will not longer be permitted for new users signing up for the forums. Current users with hotmail accounts may continue to use them, but if you want to get thread subscription notifications, PM notifications or password reset messages you should switch your email address to another provider. The reason for this action is that Hotmail is constanly blocking and bouncing back legitimate emails. Joe Last edited by JFB; 12-10-2004 at 3:11 PM. |

Is there something we could do in our settings, spam filters, etc. to prevent this problem? I know when I had to get the new PW after the forum change it was routed to my junk mail folder but I don't think I had anything returned to WA.

Great, I've had no problems thus far using OE to download my latest thread subscriptions with Hotmail. Is this an isolated problem or are a lot of you experiencing problems with Hotmail?

I had problems receiving e-mails before with my hotmail. I had to disable my junk mail filter temporarily to get the messages.

Yes, if you set the filters right it will work, mostly. Unfortunately the vast majority of hotmail users do not do that, especially people who have just registered. Then they wonder why they never get their passwords. Then they write asking for their password, but since they can't get email from us they never get a password. Even when the filter is set correctly, email sometimes gets bounced. |

Yahoo! Mails limit use to be only 4 MB. As of today its 100 MB and they did a redesign of the mail too. It looks great. Yahoo! Mail is now leaps and bounds ahead of Hotmail. I hate Hotmail. I recommend Yahoo! Mail. It has a great interface, plenty of storage, and it ties in well with Yahoo! Messenger.

I do like it, Matt. It's handy. Couple of bad things (I want the 'delete' function to say 'delete', not 'move to trash')... but otherwise good... and faster than even my work mail through Outlook.

I signed up for a Yahoo! account yesterday because of the posts here. I used to have Yahoo! back in the day and hated it, the redesign is great as well as the 100MB limit. I don't know yet if I'll keep it or stay with Hotmail. I'll have to do a lot of moving contacts and whatnot before I completely switch. Thanks to all who posted about Yahoo!

My account goes over all the time due to spammers on hotmail extra storeage to even 6 MB really helps would help. Microsoft doesn't need extra storeage to 10 Megs for extra was sooo stingy on their part! To bad they can't fix the email with www.wirelessadvisor.com |
