To me anything called a "city" is generally big. I don't think I would enjoy living in any city larger than Fredericksburg, Va. It is nice to walk the historic district, and there are some apartments available over the shops. I grew up in a rural area where the roads were so bad our school bus wouldn't go down the street, and the mail wouldn't deliver on our street either. We had a "General Delivery" address at the post office as our post office was a small corner of a general store and didn't have po boxes. I prefer rural areas. I hate living in a townhouse as I do now, because I'm too close to my neighbors.

My hometown, Hulbert, OK became a certified city, sometime while I was still in school. (I honestly don't remember when it actually happened, but it was this big deal to everyone), and we only have 543 people as of the 2000 census. So I wouldn't say anything that consists of a city, would necessarily be big...
