I notice that when you want to post a link in a post and click the "insert link" icon it goes directly to add the link address itself. I remeber it as always giving you the option to name the link you were going to post first but it looks like that is gone. Programming reasons? I didn't try it yet but can I write the html (a href, etc.) to add a name for the link I want myself? -- rg56 |

It tricked me also, but it just works a little differently. After you click OK for adding the link, it puts the link in your post with the 'text' part highlighted. If you then paste or type your text and it goes in the right place. Give it a try here.

It's new with this version of the forum software. Basically, you enter the text that you would like to be a link. Highlight that text. Then click the link button to turn that text into a link by pasting the URL in the pop-up. It works more like you would expect a word processor to work now. (Same as Bold, Italics, etc. For those, you highlight the text you want, then click the button.) EDIT: (Or you can do it like Joe mentioned.) |

I discovered this new process not long after the changes began. It threw me a little at first, but I figured it out. Thanks for the explanation, though. I was about to post this as a possible error, so now I don't have to since it is correct. Thanks Joe.
