Exclamation Carrier Forums now OPEN for all

Previously you needed to join a usersgroup to be able to view and participate in the wireless carrier specific forums. Now they are open and viewable to all.

See here: Wireless Carrier Forums

Along with this change, there is a new feature related to the New Posts and Active Topics buttons. If you want to exclude any forums from the list that results from these buttons, you can to that in your User CP under Edit Options and then at the bottom of that page. Hold down your control key when clicking to select and un-select the forums you want to exclude.

Most posts about carriers comparisons or discussion of coverage should still go in one of the regional forums.

Are you talking about what you see on the front page OR what you see when you click 'New Posts'?

Thanks JFB for doing this. I haven't tried posting yet, so I don't know about any problems.

They will still show on the forum page. You just won't see posts from those forums when you use the Active Topics or New Posts options.

only down side is it makes the page a lot longer. I see the arrows to shrink the whole section, although that does not permit the desired forums to show.

DFB,

I really like the change...I think it will make the WA more attractive to newbies just browsing through.

It seems that the feature 'crtl select' does not work for me. I can only see, under new posts, the forums that I had signed up for earlier.

what am I doing wrong?

If you're on an Apple, I think it's the Apple Key + Click to select multiple. Remember, you only want to select/highlight the forums that you DON'T want to see in your New Posts.

OK, I can see other carriers in the 'new posts' area. Still not sure how to exclude any, but I don't really care to.

Click one Forum that you would like to exclude. It will then be highlighted. Then, if you wish to highlight additional forums, hold the CTRL key while you Click each additional.

I noticed verizon & sprint/nextel stuff coming up when I clicked active topics. I'll exclude them. Thanks for the upgrades, Jay

Can you add the Manufacturer forums to the list of ones you can exclude too? Being a lifelong Motorola man I have no interest in Nokia, Samsung, LG, Sony, Etc...

All forums that you can access, should be listed already.
