People say this is suicide for carriers, which is why I'm guessing it is only in a few select markets. Is Tmobile just trying to cram a bunch of add's on?

After that, what do they do? Make you re-sign another contract or something?

Exactly, it's not like Cingular where you can change you're plan within the first 3 months without having to restart the contract.

It's not fair that they only do it in some markets, they should do it where they populate the most, here in El Paso everyone and their mom has T-Mobile..

Well I upgraded my plan. And no they did not extend my contract. They were going to at first but the guy didn't because I havn't been a customer for that long. Also, they have me 50 free bonus minutes this month because of a T-Zones outage that won't be fixed until the 31st.

I don't know why it's only in the west coast. I think in Gideon's case if you are in the trial period and change plans, they don't restart your contract. Everyone else restarts their one year commitment.

Maybe they want to expand their market penetration in some of those areas of the West Coast?

It seems that T-Mobile is always giving the West Coast special treatment before the East Coast... IE the voicemail updates, and now the really good promotional plan. They must have a very good reason why they want so many people in the West to become customers.

Just added this new promo to my plan! I did it through the web site. It won't take effect until my next billing cycle, but I don't mind. This is definitely an awesome plan! Hopefully they will offer it to other markets outside of the West Coast ones. Thanks T-Mobile for this little treat for us West Coasters!

Hey Mike how much is your plan per month now? Mine wen't from $53 to $47 per month . And that plan gives me a LOT more than $62 per month with Cingular gave me. Hence their slogan, Get More!

I have to admit, that is an awesome plan and I'm almost tempted to trying T-Mobile again(last time I had them, capacity was a huge issue in my area), but most people I talk to are 'IN' and T-Mobile still doesn't cover areas I spend a lot of spare time at so I guess I still can't try them again.

Actually it is a lateral move for me. I was at $39.99 before and still at the same price with the new plan. That's one of the reasons I don't mind waiting for it to kick in next billing cycle.
I look at it this way, even though I don't come close to using the normal 1000 minutes, having Unlimited Nights & Weekends adds to the already amazing value that is T-Mobile. "Rollover", Shmollover! Also, the fact that T-Mobile works great in the LA area makes it even better.

For me, T-Mobile has more than proven its worth, unlike Cingular. Yes, I am still bitter about that "other" GSM company.

Thanks. I felt quite honored to help the forum reach this achievement. At the rate this forum is going, it could pass the Verizon Wireless forum in posts soon, even though VZW has nearly twice as many topics!
