Default Incorrect caller id

My caller ID shows up under someone elses name and t-mobile says that is too bad you stil can not break your contract. So let the other person pay the bill. They are of no help, why can they not fix such a stupid problem?

The carrier should be able to fix that. Did you try calling back to get another representative?

Yes that was the worst between my husband and myself we must have spoken to 4 or 5. All prof. however all basically stubborn, you to pay a bill and have it show up some other name. They would say "ok wait 24 hours" that did not work neither did 72 hours. We would have kept the contract gladly if they had just worked with us. They keep saying they "offered us things" what and when? (thanks for your reply)

If I remember correctly, I was able to change mine online through my online account management (on AT&T) I could probably change my caller ID to something absurd, and they probably wouldn't notice.

Your caller ID not showing up was fixed on tmobile's end we changed it on your acct the landline caller ID provider either Verisign or Sprint now has to update their database, we have a process to escalate this to them, if this has been done, usually is done with the second call you make regarding the issue than there is nothing tmobile can do to change the caller ID. I recommend calling and just asking if this has been escalated to the landline caller ID provider, it it has than the answer sorry there is nothing we can do about it is correct. If it has not ask them to do that and then usually within 72 hours it will either be fixed or it won't but at that point everything that can be done by tmobile has been done other than setting your account just to send the ID with the number only not the name.

in the case of the incorrect caller id name would t mobile consider changing the phone number to therefore make it correct? what do you think, is the contract permanently broken or will they work with us? thanks for your replies and i will try your advise absolutely,

your caller ID not showing up correctly on enhanced landline caller ID units doesn't violate your contract. You can ask for a mobile number change most reps will do it for free for you they may tell you there will be a charge but if you push it with them they will waive it in most cases. this should do the trick.

What does wrong caller ID have to do with contract validity? Is the bill coming in the wrong name or is this only an issue on caller ID boxes?


If you're looking for a way out of the contract, this probably isn't going to be your golden egg.
