My Contract is up in January with T-Mobile (formerly Suncom) I do not want another 2 year contract, can I use my Suncom SIM card (that is now on the T-Mobile network) in a T-Mobile pre paid phone?

You may need to get the phone unlocked.

Thank you for your response!!! If an unlock code is needed the cell phone will tell me when I put my SIM card in and power the phone on....correct? Can you tell me where I can get an unlock code if Indeed I need one? My current phone is in terrible shape and will not make it until the end of my contract in January, I need a new one desprately... I am open to any other suggestions you may have.

I assume T-Mobile can give you the unlock code since they should have the information transferred from Suncom.

If you're presently with Suncom/T-Mobile you can get it from T-Mobile. If you put a SIM in a phone and it comes back with a message something like incorrect SIM you know that the phone is locked to another carrier other than with the SIM you are using.
