6030 swapped sim card deos nto work

I have a 6030 that stopped working . I got hold of a less used 6030 that had no sim card. my old phone is thru tmobile. the less used 6030 probably thru tmobile. i pu thte sim card in the newer one and it pwers up with a charged battery but asks for a sim card. i know the sim card is good becaue the old phone still works enough so others can hear me but i cannnot hear them AND the ringer does not work on mine , the only way i know soemone is calling is that the vibrate does work.
What can i do?

Make sure the sim is in correctly if it is then the phone that you are trying to use may have a problem the user you got it from should have some warranty left on it through there acct if it is less than one year old, if not buy a new phone. You can buy a prepaid phone and use your sim in it, if you're a post paid customer this will still work, or if you're post paid you could also buy a new phone with or without extending your contract

Does the old phone have the T-Mobile name on it? Does the new phone have a name on it (T-Mobile, AT&T, Cingular)? Also, what exactly does the new phone say, with your SIM in it ... INSERT SIM?, INVALID SIM?

Oh on your old original 6030 try the master reset this may help
