Angry Blackberry Curve-When will the price go down?

I would really, really, really like to get the Blackberry Curve through T-Mobile. I've tried price matching the AT&T price of their Curve when it was $99.99 which I know is slightly different from the T-Mobile one and the best that T-Mobile can give me is 229.95. But the regular price for new accounts and upgrades is regularly $249.95. Is there a way to get it at the competitors price? The cell phone companies make money off of the contract anyway, I don't see why they can't give a little on the price. I've been a customer since 2004 and I pay my bill on time and I'm out of contract. I even bought the AT&T Curve through Amazon.com. I received it on Tuesday and because their tres horible service I'm mailing the phone back tomorrow.

Gilly, I agree how frustrating it is when the price of the same phone is less with one carrier than it is for the other.

T-Mobile could reduce it at any time, but the likelihood is they won't anytime soon. It's too popular a phone for them.

Of course, with Murphy's Law, as soon as you buy their higher priced version, the price will finally go down a short time later. I've had this happen to me several times with each of the different carriers I have.

Maybe eBay would have one at a better price, but tread carefully there. You don't want to get a stolen phone.

Did you talk to retentions? Sometimes they can give much better deals than just regular CS agents or reps in the store.

Yes I did. Both times the retention reps offered me $239.95 A regular customer service rep offered me $229.95. I wanted to match the price that AT&T had for $99.95 that ended on March 31st . I called the T-Mobile store by my house today and asked if they could match the current AT&T price at $149.95 and they said no. I think I'm going to just open a new account through an authorized dealer. They have better discounts.

be careful about the authorized or "indirect Dealers" read the terms and conditions first and remember those are their terms and conditions not tmobiles....in my experience it is worth paying the higher price for the phone perhaps retention can give you a better deal on your plan so you save money long term, usually with the 2 yr contract you may be able to save about 10 to twenty dollars a month on the price of your plan...but if you go indirect remember you have to get a new phone number too, if that's not a big deal and you want to start your tenure all over again than do it. Also consider that if you're not going to sign up for the hotspot @ Home service than buy the dash, it's an awesome smart phone, no trackball, but very nice and a lot cheaper too
