Hi and Merry Christmas to all!!! I'm wondering if any T-mobile customers in the NW Ohio area (Detroit market) are having any issues sending and receiving pictures. I cant send or receive pictures at this time and I'm wondering if it's my device or if there is an outage someplace. I had a friend in Ogden Utah send me a picture message, I couldn't download it and she had no problems sending it. The picture messaging outage seems to be happening alot in this area. Anyone have any similar problems? Thanks for any input

Before you can receive picture messages, you must send one, first. When your first picture (or multimedia) message is sent from your phone number, that automatically turns the feature on with T-Mobile and you will then be able to receive them. This applies to both prepaid and postpaid accounts.

Yes, once the account is set up. Because it turned on at the network-level, if a new phone is subsequently used, they will still be able to receive MMS/picture messages.

I've had it working till that day. Seems to be a problem lately in the area. My friend in Ogden has T-mobile..the funny thing the next she wasn't able to send or receive pics either..so maybe it was just T-Mobile upgrading things!!

[QUOTE=EdwardP;485203]The easiest way to test it would be to send an MMS/picture message to your own e-mail address. If it goes through OK, then it's not a T-Mobile problem. Tried that and it still didnt work...all i got was message failed or something like that!!

Tower upgrades should not affect the transmission or receipt of messages. I would bring the phone into a corporate T-Mobile store (not a dealer) and have the phone checked out.
